minimalistic style pleated denim trousers made in a herringbone twill selvedge denim.

A special denim Motiv painstakingly developed with the best narrow loom weavers in China. The fabric is woven on a special dobby weave loom from the 1950s, giving the fabric a very tactile surface, which is further enhanced by an unsanforized finish. With shrinkage up to 13%, a herringbone weave is used to make sure that the “twist” evens out during the washing process. All of Motiv's original herringbone denim products have undergone a one-wash process to ensure that they don’t shrink any further.

Design: A summation of early industrial making techniques. On top of the selvage side seams, features include a one-piece folded fly, faux yoke darts, trapezoid beltloops as well as four pleats for optimal shape and comfort. The entire garment has been made on single needle machines by Motiv's talented team of craftspeople.

Motiv is an independent design studio from Beijing specialising in original patterns from the 1900s-1950s and converting them into a more functional style and cut. They focus on Tradition for the Future, a neo-classic approach to creating garments. Motiv strictly sources their fabrics from the top level mills in England, Ireland, Belgium, France, China and Japan.
