COTTLE

COTTLE, the work of Toshiaki Watanabe and his team in Kojima, Japan.
An elevated form of traditional craftsmanship and natural dyeing, coming together in garments intended to connect the wearer with nature.

The fabrics and dyes used by COTTLE are are designed and developed in-house and in collaboration with artisans, shokunin, in Japan. Each and every garment is completely made by hand, every step of the way.
Toshi-san's work showcases often long forgotten making and dyeing techniques, reinterpreted in a modern form. Personally, I consider the work of Cottle as a form of arts & crafts which has found its way into textile garments.
