YS Researcher Bag Black Large, a handy sling bag design by Yoko Sakamoto.

The design was inspired by the bags he used to carry around with him when researching. It can be carried in two ways: handheld or on the shoulder. It has an inside pocket with a zip for your personal items.

After sewing, the moderately thick cotton canvas fabric, which is woven super-densely, is coated one by one by hand in a historical dyeing factory in Kyoto by skilled craftsmen. Coating with natural nickel gives the fabric a more resilient feel and increased strength. The more you wear it, the more you can enjoy the unique aging process as if it were an antique.

Yoko Sakamoto started her unisex brand in 2016. The designer emphasizes to bring the nature of the material to life in her clothing; designing clothing without interfering the original qualities and properties of the materials and the silhouette. She values actual wearing comfort while focusing on craftsmanship and manual procedures for designs, which result in her distinctive and unique style.

Having met Yoko personally in Tokyo in the Summer of 2024, it confirmed my feelings that her vision and values fully align with how I approach garments at Store Du Nord. Seeking a timeless elegance, working with traditional craftsmen and creating garments which elevate your persona.
