Omoto Denim 5019 Ichimatsu Denim Shirt 8oz.
Omoto Denim 5019 Ichimatsu Denim Shirt 8oz., a classic workshirt remade in a spcial jacquard fabric from renowned denim designer Hiroki Kishimoto, founder of Omoto Denim.
The 5019 Ichimatsu Shirt by Omoto Denim is a regular fit.
"Ichimatsu" refers to the specific jacquard pattern used as the base fabric of this shirt. The pattern traces its routes back to the Edo period and was first popularized by the famous Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu when he wore a kimono featuring this pattern.
Made in a comfortable 8oz. fabric, this shirt has a very soft yet durable feel.
Details are inspired by classic worker shirts, and then dyed in a deep indigo hue to enhance the long term patine development.
The Man Turned Into A Bird, or Omoto Denim, is the passionate work of talented denim designer & fabric specialist Hiroki Kishimoto.
Having honed his skills & craftsmanship for years in the Japanese denim industry, Kishimoto-san launched his own brand in 2025.
Omoto Denim finely balances the rugged old world styles of the legendary blue jeans with a modern view on how to continue its legacy into the 21st century.
Please note that (raw) denim in (natural) indigo might bleed on light surfaces and textiles such as white sneakers or an off-white sofa. We advise you to turn the jeans inside out and soak it in a bucket with cold water for 30 minutes, before the first actual wear. This way you rinse out a bit of leftover starch and indigo plus it takes out the final bits of shrinkage. The bleeding of indigo, as it is known as, is a characteristic of quality denim and will also occur during the early stages of wear.
