Nigel Cabourn Swiss Army Rucksack Peat Label Khaki
Nigel Cabourn Swiss Army Rucksack Peat Label Khaki, original reproduction of the iconic Swiss Army canvas rucksacks. Built to last a lifetime.
In the "old days" it was very normal to use materials that were developed to last a lifetime. Many makers and industries have forgotten about this way of working in their aim to drive profit. Luckily, Nigel Cabourn still focuses on designing and developing garments and accessories that will accompany you throughout your life. The Swiss Army Rucksack remake is a perfect example of that ethos.
Developed with original Swiss canvas and Japanese canvas, and using cowhide leather for the straps and handles. The leather has been produced using Vegetable Tanning techniques together with premium Chromatic Sulfate to improve the leather's shape and aging effect. The rucksack feather a large front pocket and adjustable shoulder straps, a cord & strap closing up top and a heavy leather bottom protection similar to the original rucksacks from the 1940s/50s.
Nigel Cabourn, UK-born 1949, is a renowned British fashion designer known for his outerwear and vintage inspired clothing. He is one of the most respected persons in the vintage industry and continues to push boundaries to design near-perfect reproductions of iconic garments from the past. Many collections by Nigel Cabourn are inspired by British military garments, air force & navy styles and clothing worn by Sir Edmund Hillary during his famous expeditions.
The Mainline collection from Japan is the premium range of Nigel Cabourn, strictly focusing on specific vintage reproductions made in the original way.
