Motiv Gyorgy Shirt Silk Pink Stripe
Motiv Gyorgy Shirt Silk Cotton Fine Poplin Pink Stripe, a tribute to early 20th century silk shirting fabrics.
This fine poplin utilized high-twist spun silk yarns woven in high density, to repress the sheen usually associated with the fiber, resulting in a discreet fiber which develops a sense of luxury over time. Cotton fiber has been added to stabilize the fabric, making it fit for everyday wear.
Design: Cut airy in the bodice with a square collar that cuts away from the neck when opened, this shirt was inspired by a clip of the Hungarian-French virtuoso Gyorgy Cziffra improvising on the piano, collar open, sleeves rolled up. A special military pleat-pocket is added to the left chest, providing extra storage while maintaining a clean look.
Motiv is an independent design studio from Beijing specialising in original patterns from the 1900s-1950s and converting them into a more functional style and cut. They focus on Tradition for the Future, a neo-classic approach to creating garments. Motiv strictly sources their fabrics from the top level mills in England, Ireland, Belgium, France, China and Japan.
