Hul Le Kes Degas Trousers Wool Navy
Hul Le Kes Degas Trousers Wool Navy, unisex trousers made from deadstock wool.
These dress pants by Hul Le Kes, inspired by French impressionist Edgar Degas, are made from a deadstock wool, which means these were leftover meters produced but never used. Often due to orders being cancelled or a mill going out of business. Hul Le Kes sources these rare finds and turns them into a new product without having to produce new fabrics.
The fit of the Degas Trousers features a special outward pleat construction allowing for a comfortable hip movement without making the pattern too wide. The straight cut and heavy, felted wool allows for an elegant drape on the leg.
Hul le Kes, founded by Sjaak Hullekes and Sebastiaan Kramer, focuses strongly on using upcycled materials and traditional techniques. Over 95% of the materials used are sourced from post-consumer and post-production waste. Their pieces are crafted in Arnhem, the Netherlands, where their studio is based. All the garments of Hul le Kes are made by their wonderful team of trained craftspeople and participants recovering from mental health challenges. By blending skill-building with emotional healing, Hul le Kes demonstrates that fashion can be a powerful tool for social change.
