A wide and relaxed, subtle tapered drawstring pant designed by San Francisco-based designer Evan Kinori. Featuring ample space on the upper leg, slightly angled side pockets and open rear pockets.
Soft and unstructrured, this very lightweight all hemp twil weave was overdyed twice - first with an Oekotex beige color for a warm base, then a second time in natural sumi ink for overtones of charcoal and the introduction of irregularity in saturation. Woven and dyed in Japan.
Evan Kinori is a American designer based in San Francisco, where is studio is based and the sampling and making of garments happens. I've been following Evan since he started out in 2015 and, in fact, I still have a copy of his very first newsletter in my inbox. Evan's calm approach to garment design and his overall feel for esthetics resonate deeply with my own views and values. His focus and dedication to designing a small, almost intimate, collection of versatile and functional pieces, are a pleasant shift away from modern-day bulk productions and ongoing collection cycles. If I were to choose one word that would describe Evan Kinori and his work, it would be: stillness.
