A looser fitting bandcollar popover shirt featuring a large dropped single chest pocket, mother-of-pearl buttons, French seams, squared cuffs, curved hem and 'invisible' placket. The shirt comes in a relaxed cut with a dropped shoulder and a slightly longer body.
The cloth used for this garment is made from organic cotton, woven in Japan and comes in a traditional colorway with a royal blue tone and white stripe. The relaxed elegance of this shirt allows it to be worn either formal with tailoring pieces, or casually dressed with a pair of chinos.
Evan Kinori is a American designer based in San Francisco, where is studio is based and the sampling and making of garments happens. I've been following Evan since he started out in 2015 and, in fact, I still have a copy of his very first newsletter in my inbox. Evan's calm approach to garment design and his overall feel for esthetics resonate deeply with my own views and values. His focus and dedication to designing a small, almost intimate, collection of versatile and functional pieces, are a pleasant shift away from modern-day bulk productions and ongoing collection cycles. If I were to choose one word that would describe Evan Kinori and his work, it would be: stillness.
