Ventile is a high-performance, 100% cotton fabric developed in 1943 at the Shirley Institute in Manchester, UK, to protect WWII RAF pilots from freezing water. Utilizing tightly woven, long-staple cotton fibers that swell when wet, it offers exceptional, breathable, and natural water resistance. Due to its,superior durability and weather resistance, it became the premier choice for,cold-weather expeditions, including,Sir Edmund Hillary’s 1953 Everest ascent.
