Evan Kinori Single Pleat Pant Sumi Ink Corduroy, a relaxed taper fit trouser in a Sumi ink dye.

A slightly relaxed, subtle tapered single pleat pant designed by San Francisco-based designer Evan Kinori. Versatility in all its glory, these everyday trousers feature 1/2" pleats, quarter top front pockets, single 'hand style' welt pocket on the back right side, French seams, a button fly and single needle belt loops.

A mediumweight corduroy blending cotton and linen to achieve a slightly dry hand and more irregular texture. Woven in Wakayama, Japan - this pile weave was then cut in Shizuoka by one of the last remaining corduroy cutters in all of Japan.
The cloth was piece dyed using a blend of natural sumi ink and Oeke-Tex certified dye in Okayama.
The dyeing process also contributes to the dry touch that will continue to soften over time with repeated washing and wear.

Evan Kinori is a American designer based in San Francisco, where is studio is based and the sampling and making of garments happens. I've been following Evan since he started out in 2015 and, in fact, I still have a copy of his very first newsletter in my inbox. Evan's calm approach to garment design and his overall feel for esthetics resonate deeply with my own views and values. His focus and dedication to designing a small, almost intimate, collection of versatile and functional pieces, are a pleasant shift away from modern-day bulk productions and ongoing collection cycles. If I were to choose one word that would describe Evan Kinori and his work, it would be: stillness.
