Motiv Work Sack Jacket Wool Bedford Cloth Chocolate, 1920s inspired workwear jacket made from recycled materials.
A wool fabric made in a “Bedford” dobby structure, similar to that worn by French workers in the first half of the 20th century. The raw material of this fabric is recycled but the finishing it received makes it especially soft and lofty.
Design: A meeting point between tailored patterns and heavy duty, industrial finishing. Inspired by workers’ sack jackets in the 1920s that were made of hard-wearing materials but cut to anatomical, tailored shapes.
Motiv is an independent design studio from Beijing specialising in original patterns from the 1900s-1950s and converting them into a more functional style and cut. They focus on Tradition for the Future, a neo-classic approach to creating garments. Motiv strictly sources their fabrics from the top level mills in England, Ireland, Belgium, France, China and Japan.
