Motiv Ski Trousers Tweed Forest, inspired by 20th century army ski trousers.

A performance tweed made by Scottish mill Lovat, the tactile surface of the fabric is created by twisting a worsted yarn on a woolen one, the different tension on the two yarns create a granular surface during the finishing process. The cheviot yarns used gives the fabric great insulation as well as extraordinary anti abrasion properties.

Design: Based on traditional ski trousers, this style features multiple pleats to give extra knee room and a wool ribbed cuff to keep the cold out. The waistband is fitted with zipped sliders for adjustment purposes.

Motiv is an independent design studio from Beijing specialising in original patterns from the 1900s-1950s and converting them into a more functional style and cut. They focus on Tradition for the Future, a neo-classic approach to creating garments. Motiv strictly sources their fabrics from the top level mills in England, Ireland, Belgium, France, China and Japan.
