This substantial wool knit fabric is created with a special boucle yarn and has undergone a special shrunk finish to achieve an almost felt like appearance. This gives the fabric a highly tactile surface with great structural and insulating qualities, while the knitted nature of the fabric ensures sufficient stretch that makes it very forgiving to wear.
Design: A four-pocket field shirt with refined construction details. The elongated collar, outer edges of pockets and the elbow patches are all extensively piped to give the thick main material clear definition. The shoulder area is reinforced with woven fabric for strength.
Motiv is an independent design studio from Beijing specialising in original patterns from the 1900s-1950s and converting them into a more functional style and cut. They focus on Tradition for the Future, a neo-classic approach to creating garments. Motiv strictly sources their fabrics from the top level mills in England, Ireland, Belgium, France, China and Japan.
