Motiv Burokrat Jacket Moleskin Caramel

Motiv Burokrat Jacket Moleskin Caramel, inspired by Franz Kafka.

A refined version of what is usually associated with heavy duty workwear fabric. This moleskin fabric is made of unusually high thread count yarns and woven at extremely high density, with a slightly brushed finish to give it a lustrous sheen, all while maintaining the same sturdiness.

Design: A whimsical combination between Franz Kafka’s description of turn of the century Imperial bureaucrats and the DB jacket the novelist he himself often sports, making it a dramatic and somewhat sinister design. This DB jacket features horizontal lapels particular to that era as well as rather narrow overlap, allowing it to be worn both open and closed.

Motiv is an independent design studio from Beijing specialising in original patterns from the 1900s-1950s and converting them into a more functional style and cut. They focus on Tradition for the Future, a neo-classic approach to creating garments. Motiv strictly sources their fabrics from the top level mills in England, Ireland, Belgium, France, China and Japan.
