Japan Blue Washi Shorts Indigo

Japan Blue Washi Shorts Indigo, made from a cotton and washi blend fabric and then dyed in indigo.

The use of Washi paper materials is actually a very ancient tradition, going back 1200 years in Japan. Garments known as kamiko, which means paper clothes, were worn by samurai, merchants and Buddhist monks for centuries.
Lightweight and thin, yet strong, absorbent and durable, washi is attracting growing attention as a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to both natural and synthetic fibers. In Japan, the fabric is used mainly for household products, from shoji (sliding partition doors and screens) to lanterns and umbrellas.

Please note that (raw) denim in (natural) indigo might bleed on light surfaces and textiles such as white sneakers or an off-white sofa. We advise you to turn the jeans inside out and soak it in a bucket with lukewarm water for 30 minutes, before the first actual wear. This way you rinse out a bit of leftover starch and indigo plus it takes out the final bits of shrinkage. The bleeding of indigo, as it is known as, is a characteristic of quality denim and will also occur during the early stages of wear.
